The Orca LiddUp cooler is one of those things you didn’t realise you needed until it was too late. Okay, so you probably won’t use it, but it’s still cool. The Orca motto is, in fact, “Make Every Moment Cool.” Orca, whose American-made coolers follow in the footsteps of Yeti, and LiddUp, a business that got its start on the show Shark Tank, collaborated on the cooler.
On summer excursions throughout the Northeast, we were impressed with the cooler’s functionality. It does everything high-end coolers are supposed to do: keep drinks cold all day, have exceptionally durable construction that allows it to double as an extra seat in the cockpit, and have a drainage spout. The cooler stores 56 cans in its 33-liter capacity.
The LEDs are powered by four AA batteries, which should last a long time unless the lid is left open for an extended amount of time. That’s not cool. When filled with ice and drinks, this cooler, which weighs 25 pounds empty, becomes a two-person haul. Some users may find this inconvenient, but others may point to the cooler’s sturdy build, which gives it an ultra-rugged vibe.
No more hopelessly searching for the correct beverage with your hands drenched in icy water. The Orca LiddUp is around $100 more expensive than its competitors, at $349. I’m not sure the lighting capabilities are worth that much, but awesome is something that can’t be measured. These brands are putting their money on it.
