clare balding salary – Clare Victoria Balding OBE (born 29 January 1971) is an English broadcaster, journalist, and novelist who has worked in the media for more than three decades. She is presently a presenter for BBC Sport, Channel 4, and BT Sport, as well as the current president of the Rugby Football League (RFL).
She previously broadcast the religious programme Good Morning Sunday on BBC Radio 2, as well as the current president of the Rugby Football League.
As a private schoolgirl, Balding attended the independent Downe House school in Berkshire, where she served as Head Girl and was a classmate of the late comedian Miranda Hart.
They are actually tenth cousins, with Sir William Leveson-Gower, 4th Baronet, as their common ancestor, who is nine times their great-grandfather.
Clare Balding applied to Christ’s College, Cambridge, to study law, but she failed her interview and realised that law was not what she intended to do in the first place.
Later, she was accepted to Newnham College, Cambridge, where she studied English for two years. During her time at university, she served as President of the Cambridge Union Society in the spring of 1992 and graduated with a 2:1 honours degree in 1993. [a citation is required]
Balding was a prominent amateur flat jockey from 1988 to 1993, winning the title of Champion Lady Rider in 1990. My Animals and Other Family, which she wrote as a memoir, chronicles her childhood growing up in a racing yard. In 2012, it was named “Autobiography of the Year” by the National Book Foundation.
In addition to her father, Ian Balding, who trained Mill Reef, a 1971 winner of the Derby, the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, and the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes
; and her younger brother, Andrew Balding, who trained Casual Look, a 2003 winner of the Epsom Oaks; Clare Balding has strong ties to the horse racing industry as well. The latter victory resulted in a highly emotional post-race interview with her brother, which was captured on video.
In addition to the Grand National, Toby Balding has trained champions of the Cheltenham Gold Cup and the Champion Hurdle. She also has a strong connection to the racing world because her maternal grandpa was the trainer Peter Hastings-Bass, and her maternal uncle the 17th Earl of Huntingdon was a former trainer to Queen Elizabeth II.
Her maternal grandmother, Priscilla Hastings, is descended from the Earls of Derby and was one of the first women to be elected to membership in the Jockey Club in the early twentieth century.
Records discovered by TheGenealogist during inquiry show that Balding comes from a well-documented aristocratic heritage on her mother’s side. In their investigation, they discovered that Balding is the great-granddaughter of Sir Malcolm Bullock,
whose sexuality was probed in her episode of the Who Do You Think You Are? television show, which premiered in July 2017 and was originally shown in July 2017. Balding’s paternal grandpa, Gerald Barnard Balding Sr, was a 10-goal polo player who, when he was in his 20s, travelled to the United States to compete in polo.
Outbound passenger lists on a genealogy website include Balding’s grandpa, and it was during this period that Gerald Balding Sr met and eventually married Eleanor Hoagland, an American heiress. Balding Sr was born in England, but raised in the United States.
